The Commemoration Hall

WELCOME TO THE Patch WEBSITE

This is the webpage home of Patch (Performing Arts @ the Commemoration Hall), a group of volunteers dedicated to improving facilities at the hall for all users as well as providing an arts and entertainments programme for the benefit of the local community. The volunteers were brought together by the Trustees to the Charity to support the arts and entertainments programme started with generous grants by Huntingdon Town Council and the Huntingdon Freeman’s Charity.

Subsequent to the council meeting where funding for Patch and the Commemoration Hall was withdrawn from April 2011, a further meeting was called to re-discuss the position.

Along with the varied, mainstream shows put on by Patch, the Artistic Director, Lydia Eldridge, had established ‘Starz in Your Eyes’, a regular and popular evening for young people with disabilities to meet, socialize and have fun in a safe and friendly place.

Recognising the importance of ‘Starz' alone, in providing a service in the community for young people with disabilities, the council have agreed to continue some funding which will allow Patch to continue and for Lydia to be employed for one day a week (Friday) as Artistic Director where she will continue to book, organise and run ‘Starz’ and all our events and shows.

This is excellent news for Patch, Lydia and the people and community of Huntingdon and surrounding villages, to be able to enjoy a programme of arts and events on at the Commemoration Hall.

Thank you to all who worked to make this happen.

Please continue to support us by coming along to our evenings of entertainment, and let us know if there are any particular things you would like to see put on.

New volunteers are always welcome and anyone interested in joining our group to help us run these events, please phone, email or call in to see Lydia on a Friday at the Hall.

Here’s to a great 6th year ahead for Patch!
